Saturday breakfast

As I comfortably at half past eight this morning his eyes opened and dangle my feet in the soothing lies half asleep in the bed, awakened a desire in me!

Pancakes!

As already mentioned elsewhere in , one of my absolute favorite breakfast items. This time I tried the Sour Cream Pancake recipe from the cookbook of the Pioneer Woman. Although I had to make some adjustments. Instead it was sour cream sour cream and I had no large eggs, I have been purely a medium egg more. Maybe it was because I was not convinced that version to 100%. They were delicious, but to their relatives with buttermilk they are then not yet approached. For other food bloggers were the pancakes better off and who want to reproduce it here find the exact recipe.

The next Pancake fit I will try once this recipe. Even the photos make you want more, and finally they called "Perfect Pancakes" - what can possibly go wrong? In particular, I would like to have this amazing pancake pan sigh * *. I am afraid that you need in a gas stove. This is in the house Keksmamsell unfortunately (Nocht) is not available :-( but comes straight times with the wishlist

Source:.. Pioneer Woman

Although me such a wonderful pan well until one is denied, there was a few weeks ago a very lovely Newcomer in the kitchen of Keksmamsell - almost a consolation.

May I introduce, my new coffee pot:

Okay, the photo is bad, but the jug, with its impressive 11 cm just sugar! And best of all - hold on now and please hold your breath - it comes with a matching porcelain filter:

Magnificent, is it? Probably no one can share my rapture, particularly the doctor not ;-), but I love my new pot of hot and intimate, and it is already fixed with the morning breakfast table. When I see the photos as I get right back coffee thirst ;-).

Raspberry Cupcakes

raspberries are by far my favorite fruit! Followed closely by strawberries of course. However, strawberries make my humble opinion, only moderately well in muffins and Co. So that's raspberries. Paired with a classic cupcake basic recipe. Yummie! Today, as I had a meeting with my colleagues, this was a welcome reason the oven to heat up again. Apart from that, these cupcakes also decorate the cake table at the wedding of a dear friend. It is therefore recommended the recipe to bake a few times before trial. So this is done today and I think I am just fine-tuning work still needs something. The frosting was not as strong as I would have liked. I used slightly less sugar than stated, because I do not want to have so sweet. However, I am afraid that this had implications for the consistency. Otherwise, I was quite pleased. Especially the cupcake batter was very loose and delicious! A run with more powdered sugar, it will still be determined again. Safety first!

Keksmamsell goes shortening

a new roommate for my kitchen, has arrived here on Friday: The Page by Soehnle in silver metallic. Trés chic! She looks a bit like the Mac Book of Mr Doctor today and has done well in the test.

If you look back into the American world, you meet so constantly on the ingredient "shortening". For a long time for me this was one of the myths of American baking. What is it? What can it do? Will I use it? What is shortening, was eventually found by visiting the chef. This is in fact a hardened vegetable fat. It probably will be happy to put coconut oil and I suspect that it was simply cheaper once used as a good butter. Why now this little lexical Trip? I have the Pioneer Woman a simple oatmeal cookie recipe found that I really wanted to try it once and then found himself on the ingredients list just also said shortening. Sun from Also bought in the store and coconut oil. Interestingly then, the list of ingredients is:

I had never been clear that air can enter as an ingredient must / should /. Well, at least, the air has not hurt my cookies and they are delicious and really become crispy.

Oatmeal Crispies (oat-Knusperkekse)

1 Cup Shortening (225g)
1 cup brown raw sugar 1 cup white sugar

2 large eggs 1 teaspoon liquid vanilla

1 1 / 2 cup flour 1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon baking soda 3 cups oatmeal
delicate
1 / 2 cup pecans (chopped)

first Preheat oven to 175 ° C.

second In a large bowl beat shortening with brown and white sugar until fluffy.

third open in a separate bowl beat the eggs with the liquid vanilla.

4th Shorteningmasse to egg mixture and mix well.

5th Flour, salt and baking soda mix and stir into the Shorteningmasse.

6th Finally, the rolled oats and chopped pecans Stir and mix well.

7th Pour the mixture into two rolls shape, wrap in foil and set hours of refrigeration. If desired, you can freeze one of the rolls and then bake fresh when needed.

8th The role in a centimeter thick slices and place the cookies on a baking sheet. Bake about 10 minutes and then cool thoroughly.
